We Must Trust

“Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD,
the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.“
Isaiah 26:4 NIV

How do we learn to trust Jesus completely? By first considering, and then believing, that He is who He says He is—the Son of God.

So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.“ (Romans 10:17 NLT)

The Son of God can do anything. He created the earth and all that’s in it, and will help us with our needs, ”for nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37 ESV)

“When I cannot read, when I cannot think, when I cannot even pray, I can trust.“ Hudson Taylor

When we feel so lost we don’t know what to ask, we can say, ”Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow.” (Psalm 25:4 NLT)

We can ask Him anything. He’s closer than any friend.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives.

Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.“ (Matthew 7:7-8 NLT)

When we ask in faith (without wavering), He will help us.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.“ (James 1:5-6 NLT)

“Trust is faith that has become absolute, approved, and accomplished. When all is said and done, there is a sort of risk in faith and its exercise. But trust is firm belief; it is faith in full bloom. Trust is a conscious act, a fact of which we are aware.“ E.M. Bounds

By reading His Word we learn His ways.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.“ (Hebrews 4:12 NLT)

“Jesus can make those happy who trust him and call him, whatever be their outward condition. He can give them peace of heart in a prison, contentment in the midst of poverty, comfort in the midst of bereavements, joy on the brink of the grave.“ J.C. Ryle

The more we know of Him, the more we will trust Him.

“At first I was able to trust the Lord for ten dollars, then for a hundred dollars, then for a thousand dollars, and now, with the greatest ease, I could trust Him for a million dollars, if there was occasion. But first, I should quietly, carefully, deliberately examine and see whether what I was trusting for, was something in accordance with His promises in His written Word.“ George Muller
