When I was in high school in the 1950’s I quickly learned I had a variety of clubs I could join. There was the Glee club, chess club, debating club and so on. I never felt the need or desire to join any of them. I was a loner you might say.
However, as an adult I joined several clubs and have enjoyed the sense of being a part of them very much. The organization whose membership I enjoy most is my church. For many years I have been a leader in the Christian community.
Being a travelling preacher, I have visited numerous countries including Ecuador, USA, England, Scotland, Wales, and Malawi besides Canada. In every country I sensed a feeling of belonging as I visited local churches and preached from our common Bible.
There is no sensation of belonging that equals being a member of a local Christian church. If you are a believer, you are welcome to any Christian church in the world.
Christians worldwide share a common set of beliefs including a confession of Jesus as Lord, believing Jesus rose bodily from the dead, belief the Saviour is coming again in glory. We have so much to celebrate together as we wait for Him to reveal Himself! We belong to a family that is not bound by generations or ethnic limitations. From all nations, from every age, our great God has chosen a people for Himself.
Christian, you belong to the greatest family that has ever existed. Be confident of this today, that when the last member of the Good Shepherd’s flock is gathered into His sheepfold, the door will close and the eternal celebrations will begin.
Dear reader will you be with us? Will you join in the singing as we praise the Lamb? Or will you be part of the great multitude that is forever consigned to eternal darkness?
Turn and live. You are invited to join the greatest family in the world. Only your sin keeps you away. Renounce your sin and turn to the Saviour. The Lord of glory invites you so tenderly to come. So come and come today.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 (NASB)
“...[casting] all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you.”
1 Peter 5:7 (NASB)
