In the last number of years a few prominent scientists have begun a campaign to rid the world of the idea there is a God.

They're not going around seeking to do physical harm to others, rather they're warning the public that religion is an evil system of propaganda and has done immeasurable harm to the world at large.

These individuals rant on about how people of faith have opposed scientific research.

They insist that no intelligent person today—and certainly no credible scientist—believes in God.

Such generalizations as "No credible scientist believes in God." are certainly the refuge of weak minds. Such broad statements are easily recognized as coming from people who are ignorant of the facts.

The vicious, inaccurate, and wild comments that these evangelical atheists make are an embarrassment to other atheists who are world renowned scientists, and who know more that their misguided colleagues.

Some of the most brilliant minds in human history have all confessed confidence in the fact there is a God behind all that we can observe.

Men like Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and many others confess that the exquisitely beautiful symmetry built into creation demands that an infinitely intelligent mind has "finely tuned" it and put it all together.

As far as the Bible is concerned, people who can see the wonders of creation, who can understand just how finely tuned all the laws of physics are, and yet deny God are people who are intellectually challenged. This is God's statement in response to those who can grasp the complexities of the universe, but who still insist it "just happened" without any Mind behind it.

Psalm 2 is a good antidote for the nonsense that these people speak. The day will come when the Lord shall scoff at them and have them in confusion.

His justice will be swift and without any possibility of rebuttal.

How very important it is for us to make peace with God in this day of grace. At a time when God's Holy Spirit is working in people's hearts, persuading them of the truth concerning the resurrected Christ.

God is to be loved yes, but there's also the fear of the Lord that Scripture speaks of many times in the Bible.

We do well to understand this expression and stand in awe of God.

Certainly the Lord is great and is greatly to be praised.

And He is to be feared by all thinking people.

Only fools say there is no God.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10).
