Everywhere in our world we can witness the intricate and awesome beauties of creation. However, where our minds are completely overwhelmed is in seeking to grasp the wonder of God's re-creation of us through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
As we consider the immense nature of our God and His awesome power, wisdom and skill—in what we see and hear all around us—it puts us in our place as creatures.
We're the dust on the face of eternity.
In humility we seek to approach our Creator and gain some form of relationship with Him.
The more we examine the world around us—the greater our humility.
How can we be counted as significant when we see the staggering size of our Milky Way galaxy and then consider that it is only one of billions and billions of galaxies for us to explore with our telescopes?
Are we not merely a blip on the screen of eternity? Can we have any significance whatsoever? Why do we think that we matter at all?
We matter because Scripture tells us so. In Scripture we hear the voice of God telling His people how precious they are in His sight.
This is where we find ourselves lost in wonder, love and praise.
God not only speaks to us, but does so in the most loving and tender of terms.
In this life most of us can't have an appointment with government officials or royalty—but through Jesus we gain the presence of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Our verse today contains a sense of wonder at how marvellous it is to be called God's children. This ought to fill us with awe and amazement.
God has "lavished"—or abundantly poured out—His limitless love on us.
Just think of that for a moment! What could possibly be so incredible?
Let yourself be "lost in wonder love and praise" today.
From eternity past—before the worlds were created—you were in God's heart.
He chose you to be His beloved child. Then at a point in time you were granted the gifts of repentance and faith to turn to Jesus and believe in Him.
Pause Christian, and delight in this remarkable, wonderful, incredible truth.
"Marvel" at God's amazing love poured out into your heart.
He has you in the palm of His hand and keeps you close to His loving heart. No place is as safe and secure as that.
Rise up and go in the strength of the Lord. Whatever you face today is in the Lord's plan for you.
You walk with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It does not get any better than this.
