We need to recognize that there are questions we can ask that the Bible doesn't answer.

For reasons best known to Him, God hasn't disclosed certain facts to us.

Our verse for today makes it clear that God has kept some information to Himself, and it's pointless to try and give answers when He hasn't spoken.

The time when this question "Why?" becomes especially frustrating for us is when we seek to understand all the reasons for pain and suffering in this world—especially in our own situations in life.

When it comes to these tough questions we're sometimes left without explanation by the Lord and thus called on to trust God when we can't find answers.

We know that suffering entered the world when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. However, Romans 5:12-21 tells us that not only did Adam bring suffering upon us all through his sin, but Christ came into the world to recover what Adam lost.

In other words, through faith in Christ we have the hope of eventually being brought into a second Garden of Eden where sin will never enter.

We shall be brought into a place where there shall be fullness of joy and happiness.

God shall wipe away all tears from the eyes of His beloved children (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 7:17; 21:4).

Our hope isn't to live in this world without sorrow—rather our hope is that we shall finally overcome the pain and sorrow of this life when we are brought into the immediate presence of Jesus.

As the old Gospel song says, "This world is not my home."

Seek to live as though you are just passing through this world.

Let others see that you are in transit.

Don't behave as though this world is your permanent residence.

Only as you live with eternity in view will you find grace to accept the problems of today.

Make peace with the temporary suffering of the present because of the eternal rewards promised us in Jesus.
