“And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith.”
Genesis 15:6 NLT

We’re told that God will be with us always, that He will never leave us.

And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 NLT)

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT)

When under duress, however, doubts can plague us and our faith can weaken.

”Our heavenly Father isn’t looking for a faith that deals with one problem at a time. He’s looking for a lifetime faith, a lifelong commitment to believe him for the impossible. This kind of faith brings a calm and rest to our soul, no matter what our situation. And we have this calm because we’ve settled once and for all, “My God is bigger. He is able to bring me out of any and all afflictions.” David Wilkerson

When our faith is unsteady, when our prayers seem to go unanswered, we need to ask for help.

“My brother, glory in your infirmities—thank God for your weaknesses! There is room for God when you are empty! But when you are so full, and so strong, and have such excellent machinery, and can do the work so well, why then you will attempt to do without your God, and a failure will be the result. But, O Beloved — “When I am weak, then am I strong, Grace is my shield, and Christ my song.” Charles Spurgeon

Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.“ (Romans 14:1 NLT)

Is there someone who can come alongside us if our faith falters? Can we do the same for another who needs our support and encouragement?

If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.“ (2 Timothy 2:13 NLT)

“True faith is never found alone; it is always accompanied by expectation. The man who believes the promises of God expects to see them fulfilled. Where there is no expectation there is no faith. “ A.W. Tozer

So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.“ (Romans 10:17 NLT)

“Faith is a grace which admits of degrees. It does not come to full strength and perfection as soon as it is planted in the heart by the Holy Spirit. There is “little” faith and “great” faith. There is “weak” faith and “strong” faith. Both are spoken of in the Scriptures. Both are to be seen in the experience of God’s people. The more faith a Christian has the more happy, holy, and useful will he be. To promote the growth and progress of faith should be the daily prayer and endeavor of all who love life.” J.C. Ryle
